D&G Junior Puffer Jacket & Striped Sweater Dress

I was never the posh kid at my elementary school. I always wore sweats and tracksuits. And this was before the invention of the Juicy Couture version. So, yeah, I wasn’t dressed all cool like the kids today. Now, Dolce & Gabbana want to change that. The new D&G Junior line has everything the most stylish kids in the world should be wearing, like this Puffer Jacket & Striped Sweater Dress. The sweater dress is $175 and the jacket is $345, which probably cost more than my entire collection of sweats, but this is the type of thing that I would’ve wanted if it existed back then! Incredibly stylish and warm to boot! Give the cool girl in your life the wardrobe to match yours, now at Neiman Marcus.
Built by Wendy Wool Tunic

I was pleasantly surprised to see Built by Wendy’s fall line finally pop up on the web site (oh, I haven’t been checking that often …just once or twice a day). I was especially drawn to this wool tunic in burgundy, natch. We often think of tunics as being light and swingy, but this piece defies the norm and still looks fabulous. I love the textured knit of the sweater, and I can see it being worn with a belt over it or as-is. I love the illustrated look of ¾-length sleeves layered over other shirts! And plus, how about the gorgeous and talented Robin Tunney modeling the brand? Fabulous!
Jumpers vs. Rompers

Jumpers always make me think of my first day of kindergarten when my mom put me in a pink corduroy jumper with a white blouse underneath. The jumper had straps- very similar to those on overalls, except the bottom was a skirt. It also had pockets, and I loved it. In the U.K., jumpers are what we would call sweaters. Either way, it’s a cool word for various items of clothing. Just make sure you don’t look like the 60-something woman who played the piano at my cousin’s high school graduation.

A romper, on the other hand, is more like a playsuit. In short, this is a loose, light-fitting one-piece garment, similar to a jumper in that the top is attached to the bottom. The main difference is that the bottoms are usually shorts and they may be gathered (like a fancier version of the onesie underclothes, which newborns may wear). All in all, the romper is a fairly practical item as far as physical activity is concerned- unless you need to you the bathroom in which case you better hope you’re not in a hurry since you need to practically undress. Rompers have had a recent comeback among the hipster elite and A-list celebs, but there’s no reason why six-months-from-now, people won’t be saying you look like an overgrown, skanky extra from Barney.

While strolling through my local Bloomingdales last night I passed the Juicy Couture department and immediately spotted this Chunky Marled Dark Gray Sweater Coat. And yes I tried it on. It’s extra long with 3/4 inch sleeves and has a 5 button closure front as well as a tie at the waist. Its SUPER cozy and SUPER comfy. I am a summer person at heart but putting this sweater on made me yearn for those chilly nights sitting by the fireplace!!! Juicy Couture Marled Sweater Coat - $298.00
