Using body scrubs can be a laborious process. You keep scrubbing and scrubbing and you feel like your skin is just coming off, leaving you parched, like you’ve been in the desert. Fresh Sugarbath Brown Sugar Body Polish is the perfect antidote to scrubbing doldrums. For one thing, it smells like brown sugar (duh!), making every scrubbing experience like walking into a bakery full of sweets. Second, it’s gentle and it actually moisturizes to keep you from getting that undesirable desert sand skin. Third, a gigantic 14.1 ounce tub is available from Sephora for $62.50. It’s more expensive than a similar size roll of cookie dough, but this one won’t spoil your appetite and or interfere with your healthy eating habits. Pick up this sweet jar of goodness today!

Marc Jacobs Daisy

mj-daisy Marc Jacobs Daisy

Leave it to Marc Jacobs to take something as ubiquitous as a daisy and turn it into a completely desirable fragrance. Marc Jacobs Daisy is a completely fresh scent for the unapologetically girly-girls who adore the world of Marc Jacobs. It’s young, it’s clean, it’s obviously very floral, leaving you smelling smart and sweet and oh-so-huggable! It’s also infused with violet to give you that signature Marc Jacobs quirk to an otherwise straight-forward scent. Get it from Sephora for $55 for 1.7 ounces or $70 for 3.4 ounces.

Bright Eye-deas–Dr. Perricone Eye Area Therapy

dr.-perricone-p6544-hero1 Bright Eye-deas--Dr. Perricone Eye Area Therapy

If only we could choose what we inherit from our parents, the world would look even brighter—and so would my eyes. As far back as I can remember, I have battled with under eye circles, and unless I smoked out my eyes so that a veil of pigment detracted attention away from the dark rings under my eyes, I’d get the, “You look tired;” and, “did you sleep well?” Contrary to what many people think, other factors besides stress and sleep deprivation can cause under eye circles. Poor blood circulation and hyperpigmentation, which are often hereditary conditions, can also cause skin under the eye to take on a bluish-tint. Luckily, there are treatments that can help and that don’t necessarily have to involve surgery. I’ve been a longtime fan of Dr. Perricone’s Eye Area Therapy with NTP Complex and DMAE ($50; at Sephora). This super emollient hydrating cream contains Alpha Lipoic Acid, a powerful antioxidant, and overtime, significantly reduces the appearance of dark circles and puffiness. With frequent use, I have seen a remarkable difference. Dark circles are not nearly as obvious, skin is tighter and the puffiness underneath my eyes has diminished completely.  This stuff really works—and keeps those unjustified tired comments at bay.

Marc Jacobs Splash - Rain

marc-jacobs-rain Marc Jacobs Splash - Rain

When it’s hot out and the sun is beating down, don’t you wish it would just rain one of those wonderful summer rains, just a little bit, enough to cool you off? That’s part of the idea behind Marc Jacobs’ successful line of fragrance splashes. Each season, he brings three or so limited edition scents that evoke the smells of the season. This summer, he’s brought Orange, Amber, Cucumber, and my personal favorite, Rain, all of which aren’t direct evocations of the titular scent, but rather fresh, rich interpretations that smell oh-so-good! Marc Jacobs Rain is available from Sephora for $65, which is a steal when you realize that these are 10 oz bottles! They’re lighter than normal perfume, so Marc meant them to be splashed on quite liberally (and literally!). They’re the perfect antidote to all the less pleasant smells of summer, from smog to sweat, so do yourself a favor and get drenched!

BeneFit cosmetics

41bxgcjcytl-aa265- BeneFit cosmetics

I have always favored BeneFit over any other brand of cosmetics ever since I was a high school freshman browsing the shelves at Sephora with my best friend.  My first BeneFit purchase was Dr. Feel Good, a velvety facial balm that makes your skin as smooth as a baby’s butt.  Not only does it have an adorable package, but it is an oil-absorbing, pore-minimizing product to use with or without additional base.  I used to rub it on, add some bonne bell lip smacker, and I was ready for a night out on the town, er, being dropped off at the movies by my mom.
