Plain Jane Poolboy Tank: “I don’t pay the poolboy in $”

When I first spotted the Plain Jane Poolboy Tank on sale at revolve ($21), I was sort of scandalized, which is surely a sign that I am turning into a crotchety old curmudgeon, or Emily Yoffe. Wear it like the summer never ended and give the gossip hounds something to talk about while Britney continues her downward spiral.
Bright Eye-deas–Dr. Perricone Eye Area Therapy

If only we could choose what we inherit from our parents, the world would look even brighter—and so would my eyes. As far back as I can remember, I have battled with under eye circles, and unless I smoked out my eyes so that a veil of pigment detracted attention away from the dark rings under my eyes, I’d get the, “You look tired;†and, “did you sleep well?†Contrary to what many people think, other factors besides stress and sleep deprivation can cause under eye circles. Poor blood circulation and hyperpigmentation, which are often hereditary conditions, can also cause skin under the eye to take on a bluish-tint. Luckily, there are treatments that can help and that don’t necessarily have to involve surgery. I’ve been a longtime fan of Dr. Perricone’s Eye Area Therapy with NTP Complex and DMAE ($50; at Sephora). This super emollient hydrating cream contains Alpha Lipoic Acid, a powerful antioxidant, and overtime, significantly reduces the appearance of dark circles and puffiness. With frequent use, I have seen a remarkable difference. Dark circles are not nearly as obvious, skin is tighter and the puffiness underneath my eyes has diminished completely. This stuff really works—and keeps those unjustified tired comments at bay.
BeneFit cosmetics

I have always favored BeneFit over any other brand of cosmetics ever since I was a high school freshman browsing the shelves at Sephora with my best friend. My first BeneFit purchase was Dr. Feel Good, a velvety facial balm that makes your skin as smooth as a baby’s butt. Not only does it have an adorable package, but it is an oil-absorbing, pore-minimizing product to use with or without additional base. I used to rub it on, add some bonne bell lip smacker, and I was ready for a night out on the town, er, being dropped off at the movies by my mom.Â
Lee Mathews: A Designer’s Designer
Posted on July 2, 2007 at 11:17 pm (PST) | Comments Off
For those days when you just want to dress up and be pretty, Lee Mathews will come in hand. Hailing from Sydney, Australia, Mathews creates clothing of such great quality that each piece is unlikely to be found anywhere else in the world or perfectly the same as one in the same size. The reason why is that Mathews and her staff hand-dye and hand-sew all of the clothing themselves, along with help from some of the locals. Inspired by treasured vintage pieces, she crafts each piece with so much care that it could never be mass-produced in a factory. The Delaunay Jacket is proof of her skills. The fine details, the fabric, the lovely chocolate color, all show care and respect for craftsmanship. One would expect something so precious to be hyperexpensive, but this wonderful jacket is actually on sale for $199.
Bottega Veneta Crocodile Clutch

With every new Bottega Veneta piece I see, I fall just a little bit more in love with the absolute beauty of the leather and the craftsmanship they all have. This Bottega Veneta Crocodile Clutch is no exception. This is the absolute most luxurious clutch for anybody wanting to look more glamorous than, say, Angelina Jolie. The gorgeous crocodile is accented with a silver/gold tone python finish and the signature Bottega Veneta kiss-lock knot closure. Combining metallics and exotics, this clutch is worth a million bucks, but it can be yours for $4500 from Neiman Marcus.
