Love it or Hate it: Marc by Marc Jacobs Headband

I’ll usually believe Marc Jacobs when he tells me something is cool.  I have a weakness for his clothes that combine great design with comfort.  However, I’m not sure how I feel about this headband.  Headbands in general can be ok if they’re simple and classic and adding a touch of conservativeness to a brazen outfit, but I’ve never been a fan of the bigger, louder headbands.  Despite being in a muted, neutral color, this one is definitely on the louder side.  Denim on the head?  Are we channeling Tiffany here?  Do you love it or hate it?

Love It or Hate It? Gaultier Technical Tartan Trench Coat

Jean-Paul Gaultier is fashion’s enduring renegade. His latest collection, inspired by the tartans of the Highland, is certainly a love it or hate it kind of collection. Take this Gaultier Technical Tartan Trench Coat, which you can pre-order through Saks for $4135. The price is rather high for something that doesn’t exactly seem like a wardrobe staple. It reminds me of the packaging for Scotch tape actually. But I do love Gaultier’s flair for the original and unexpected. I’m undecided. What do you think?

Prada sandals - Love It Or Hate It

From the Bergdorf Goodman’s new arrivals collection comes the Prada Fringe Thong Sandal. At the retail price of $395.00, these babies are selling very quickly and are thus highly demanded. In my opinion, the rather liberal use of fringes on this pair of shoes could work in two ways: It may take away some of the charm, or it might turn it around and make it so fabulous that, soon enough, the trend becomes fashionable with every designer label. However, it is up to the readers to decide just what is fashionable or not.

I’m not loving Chloe Sevigny’s attempt at a fusion of feminine ruffles with a masculine Scorpion belt. I do love how she can wear the tiniest of mini skirts and still look classy though.

Betsey Johnson Brown Halter Bikini: Love It or Hate It?

It’s nearly time to hit the beach, and there’s a lot of fabulous swim wear to choose from. This Betsey Johnson ’Chocolate Kiss’ Halter Bikini, $160, however, is not so much. The hot pink sculpted roses make the otherwise-pretty chocolate brown bikini hideous. The roses, along with the gold beads and embossed hearts, are just too much. Plus, I feel like they would dig into your skin if you were laying on your tummy sunbathing. Do you agree?
