The Magic of Hermes

Welcome to the world of Hermes, where leopards kiss and play together on a cool green lawn, while butterflies fly in the air. The heat of the jungle is actually the heat of the city, and, well, that previously described scene is actually on your silk twill hand rolled scarf. But with this fairy tale scene wrapped around your head or hanging out your bag, you deserve to indulge in your own world, especially since it just costs $325.

The thing about most new designers is that they tend to emulate existing styles rather than crafting their own identities. Such is the case with Milly, a New York designer/label launched in 2000. She has some good ideas, but I don’t really see any originality. All her clothes seem to scream "ANNA SUI" or "MARNI" and even occasionally "EARLY 2000’s PRADA" rather than, well, "Milly."Â
Nonetheless, this top is cute, the color (lilac) is fairly unique, and…well…not every designer can say that she’s had the president of Hermes personally request that she go work for them in Paris ("gasp").  All in all, she has potential.
The Amazing Wonders of the World of Hermes

When I go shopping to prepare for my summer vacation, I like to treat myself for not buying too many personal gifts at Christmas and for walking through slush and snow to go to the gym. Even if you have not done either one of these things, I am sure that you deserve to be treated to an Hermes scarf sooner rather than later. To many people $325 for a 36" x 36" piece of silk is silly, but I guarantee you that the feeling of buying and wearing something from Hermes outweighs the price. This particular hand-rolled silk twill scarf features a passionate and graphic illustration of the Ginza district in Tokyo in a sea of green. The scarf is also stamped for passage à Tokyo so don’t be too surprised if your purchase inspires a trip that land!
