Chanel Plagiarism Scandal?

If you loved the Chanel message bangles ($325 800-550-0005) seen on Paris and Nicole’s cover for Harper’s Bazaar, you’ll be outraged to find that the bangles may have been ripped off jewelry designer Jessica Kagan Cushman’s Scrimshaw Phrase Bangle. In an act that rivals Todd Goldman’s blatant plagiarisms, Chanel has taken Cushman’s uniquely hand etched bangles carved from 10,000 year old mammoth tusk frozen during the Ice Age and turned them into their watered down, Forever 21-quality knockoff counterpart. Cushman’s mammoth bangles are available in narrow ($595), medium ($795), and wide ($895) at Barneys. A more affordable resin version is available in ivory or black at Ravinstyle for $125.
