Louise Goldin New Kid in Town

Make room for Louise Goldin, the new London kid making waves with her seductive, body-conscious, techno-"coloured" creations (and from Central Saint Martins, naturally). Separate all the clashing colors and patterns and one is actually left with several distinctly magnificent pieces of apparel. The above combination is actually one fantastic white one-piece swimsuit over a flirtatiously sheer chiffon cover-up in the colors of an orange creamsicle. London flair that might actually get sold in stores? Now that is innovative!

Happy 100th birthday Neiman Marcus! What better way for them to celebrate than to give us, the fashion-loving community, a whole hoard of birthday exclusives? One of my favorite pieces is this Dolce & Gabbana Napa-Trim Silk Dress, $2995 from (of course) Neiman Marcus’s website. Metallics and greys are the biggest trends for fall, making this dress one of the best dresses for fall. The stretchy platinum silk with grey napa trim means one luxurious, body-amplifying piece of fabulous! Celebrate in style, it’s the only time that you get a present for somebody else’s birthday!
Sarah Jessica Parker’s BITTEN Collection

When Sarah Jessica Parker launched her BITTEN fashion line this summer, I thought I was losing my hearing when she announced that everything in the collection is under $20. Available exclusively at Steve and Barry’s stores, the BITTEN collection largely reflects Sarah Jessica Parker’s personal style and offers everything from jeans to suit separates. Sweaters, tops, jackets, dresses, bags, jewelry, and shoes are also part of the collection and range in size from XS-XXL in tops, 0-22 in bottoms, and 5-11 in shoes. Why did Parker name the collection BITTEN? Apparently, Parker was "bitten by the Steve and Barry’s bug" the first time she walked into a Steve and Barry’s store and her reaction subsequently became the name of the collection. I, for one, am grateful to Sarah Jessica Parker for designing a fashionable, wearable, yet affordable collection accessible to all women. Who doesn’t love a bargain? Get ‘bitten’ by Sarah Jessica Parker’s new BITTEN fall collection at a Steve and Barry’s near you.  Â
Ralph Lauren’s 40th Anniversary Extravaganza

Ralph Lauren is the king of classic American glamour. For his 40th anniversary, he celebrated by putting on the most amazing spectacle of his career. A whopping 72 looks were sent down the runway, each a testament to Ralph’s incomparable talent for creating timeless visions of what American, and now women worldwide, will want to wear for everything from going to work to going to the Oscars. One of my many favorite looks in the show was the white gown above, simply stunning in its simple elegance. It’s what some talented, pretty, young ingenue will wear next spring to dazzle the crowds of wherever she goes. Ralph Lauren is definitely reaching new heights of spectacular style!
Elizabeth & James Au Revoir Dress

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen are covering all their bases. Not just satisfied with their clothing line for tweens, America’s most successful twins have gone ahead and added two new fashion lines to their repertoire. First up was The Row, a line of high-priced, super-luxe wardrobe staples that Barneys New York picked up, and now they’ve come up with Elizabeth & James. Named after their siblings, Elizabeth & James is priced at the contemporary level, a step below the designer prices of The Row. Neiman Marcus has already put the line online, offering my favorite piece, the Elizabeth & James Au Revoir Dress, for a very reasonable $360 dollars. It’s 100% silk in a gorgeous grey with lipstick detail at the bust, with a swingy silhouette that pairs great with tights. It what chic girls would pick in a New York Minute!
