Super hot tennis star Maria Sherapova announced Wednesday that she will be fighting to defend her US Open Title in a collection of knockout custom-made dresses from Nike. The statuesque athlete modeled her new looks from the top of New York’s Rockefeller Plaza on Wednesday. Sherapova will be wearing classic black and white for her day matches and eye-catching red for evening. The dress she will be sporting for her first match is a confidently sexy red frock accented with more than 600 Swarovski crystals. Sherapova’s one-of-a-kind Nike / Swarovski stunner is not available for purchase but you can still add a little sass to your backhand with some of Nike’s other Sherapova - inspired designs.
Tory Burch Gold Kylie Dress

I just read both Bergdorf Blondes and The Debutante Divorcee, both by Vogue contributor and fashion maven in the making, Plum Sykes. Plum and her twin sister Lucy are from Britain, but they’re part of the late 20s, early 30s New York social set that includes Tinsley Mortimer, Lauren Davis, and all those fantastically glamorous women, many of whom had their names used in Plum’s books. Those fictional characters wore some astoundingly glamorous outfits, and this Tory Burch Gold Kylie Dress is pretty much the type of thing I imagined they would wear. Tory Burch herself is part of this in-crowd, so it makes sense that she knows how to dress them. The flirty silk shift comes covered in metallic gold paillettes, making it shimmer in the evening and dazzle in the daytime. It’s $750 from Active Endeavors, so order it today if, like me, you’re mesmerized by impossibly chic New York socialites. It’s beyond!
Anthropologie Go-See Halter Dress

A few days ago, I saw the movie Evening. And during the movie, I fell in love…with a dress. A black, floral, square-neck halter, decidedly 50’s but absolutely beautiful. It was a dress that transcends time and trends. It made Claire Danes look effortlessly chic; appropriate for the WASPy rehearsal dinner to which she wore it but also for a night out in the West Village, where her character lived. As I was perusing Anthropolgie today, I could barely believe it. It was the dress–or something like it. And it was cheap. Of course, it isn’t H&M cheap and certainly not Forever 21 cheap. But for an Anthropologie dress, the prices don’t get much better. If only I had Hugh Dancy at my side, things would certainly be looking up.
