Chloe Striped Sweater and Lampshade Skirt

I must say that I’m excited! The new designer at Chloe is Paulo Melim Andersson from Sweden, taking the brand over from Britain’s queen of cool Phoebe Philo (and before her, another equally amazing Brit queen of cool, Stella McCartney). At first I was worried that the brand might lose its signature youthful charm, the certain je ne sais quoi that made this the go-to brand for DPTs (dirty pretty things). Andersson used to work at Marni, which is a bit like the Italian equivalent of youthfully irreverent cool. Available to pre-order through Saks Fifth Avenue is Chloe’s Fall collection, including this Striped Sweater and Lampshade Skirt ($1070 and $1000), which exemplifies some amazing detailing. On the sweater, the stripes are knit together, not dyed, which gives you a much finer looking end result. The taffeta skirt comes with a full silk lining, which is a wonderfully luxe detail. Order now before they become collectibles!
Summer Lovin’ Sale
Posted on June 12, 2007 at 11:12 am (PST) | Comments OffAs some, or most, or none of you know, net-a-porter is having a sale extravaganza!Â
Come now, don’t hide your overwhelming excitement.
I highly recommend you check out the editor’s picks, but here are some supplementary selections lovingly discovered through extensive browsing:
Chloe Beach Dress

What with my being LA-based, I have a certain penchant for elegant, billowy beach dresses. This dress is the quintessential foundation for creating all sorts of summer outfits — glam it up or hippy it out with whatever accessories strike your fancy. There’s nothing quite like frolicking across the sands dressed like a free-spirited beach Lolita. Just remember to pack some pepper spray in your tote should any Humberts make unwanted advances. Speaking of which…
Corto Moltedo Shopper

Okay, okay, so this tote isn’t particularly understated or so-hip-it-hurts, but I’ll be damned if it isn’t absolutely adorable! I’m usually not a big fan of monograms or conspicuous designer labels (yuck), but the retro font practically melts into the background as your eyes go straight to the similarly melting ice cream cone motif. It’s cute, functional, and almost ironic. This is probably the closest most fashionistas are going to get to actually consuming ice cream this season (or any season hereafter).
Thus does my first post conclude. It’s back to the sartorial seas for me — I’ll be sure to bring you more news from my travels. Perhaps something witty about shoes.
The Art of Shaving Sandalwood Eau De Toilet

For the father that’s been wearing the same boring cologne since college, why not expand his fragrance wardrobe? The Art of Shaving has tons of gifts for the man that needs to upgrade his shaving routine, but they also have an amazing arsenal of fragrances to complement. Their Sandalwood Eau De Toilet is no exception. Rich and woodsy, even a little exotic and spicy underneath, sandalwood is definitely a scent to be experienced. It’s like closing your eyes and imagining you’re in the woods of an exotic forest in India. An exotic adventure for your father, on sale for just $45 from Max and Chloe!
