Thanks to the ladies at The Purse Forum, it’s been revealed that the Chanel Brilliant Lumiere Fluorescent Lip Gloss does in fact glow under black light! I so, so want this. It’s still available in “Mango Fluo” at Nordstrom online($25), but I believe it is limited edition for summer 2007, so order soon if you’ve got a rave (Paul Oakenfold at the Warfield tonight, anyone?) to attend.

One of fashion’s recent fetishes is the revival of old a fashion houses by genius designers. Think Balenciaga, Chanel, Givenchy, Nina Ricci, or Vivonnet. The great 1940s designer Vera Neumann is among this list of bold names with her signature scarves. The Travelers Stripe Scarf displays her striking style and use of color with the golden yellow, orange, grey, and black stripes on white. This long scarf is perfect for creating a unique look, while inexpensively indulging in fashion history for $78.

If you missed the Costume Institute’s stunning Chanel exhibit in 2005, fear not! The book accompanying the exhibit is available from Barnes & Noble. Chanel includes contributions from Harold Koda, Andrew Bolton, Olivier Saillard, and Rhonda Garelick, as well as an amazing visual review of the spectacular creations of both Madame Coco and Kaiser Karl Lagerfeld. At just under $40, it’s about the most affordable way to get a glimpse of Chanel couture. A great coffee table book or gift for the Chanel enthusiast!
Anna Sui Crushed Silk Dress

Anna Sui is lovably quirky for her mix-it-up style that brings together New York cool with some amazingly disparate influences. Her Crushed Silk Dress, $410 from Testimo Boutique, has all the trappings of a chic, free-spirited New York boho chick. This is for the type of girl who’ll mix vintage dresses with $800 cowboy boots, maybe with a Chanel bangle (or three). Anna Sui girls love to mix it up, and this dress would fit right into her wardrobe!
