Marc Jacobs loves to dress women.  He knows how to flatter, and he knows how to evoke a reaction when people first see his clothes.  My reaction is usually “ohmygod, ohmygod, I NEED this!”  This sexy summer evening top is one of my favorite Marc Jacobs pieces to date.  I will always love the black and white color combo in clothing.  Combine that with a flattering, breezy camisole and you have a summer staple!  I would love to see this with some white capris and black peep-toe heels.

Spring & Clifton Colorblock Cami

colorblock-tank Spring & Clifton Colorblock Cami

I love modern art. I love Rothko’s colorful blurs, I love Malevich’s minimalist blocks, I even love Jackson Pollock’s crazy splatters. Maybe that’s why I’m crazy about Spring & Clifton’s Colorblock Cami. The bright, geometric shapes remind me of a Mondrian painting, except more wearable. It’s simply awesome for an afternoon date at the art museum, don’t you think? Especially since it’s on sale for $125 from Active Endeavors! Support the arts!

Peter Som Bow Camisole

peter-som-camisole Peter Som Bow Camisole

Sometimes you just want to feel as sweetly pretty and hopelessly romantic as all the Southern Belles you read about in novels. Of course, those ladies all wore corsets and endless layers of tulle and crinoline, which probably won’t fit into your closet, much less your day-to-day life. What you want is a modern version of sweet Southern beauty - think Reese Witherspoon! Peter Som’s Floral Silk Camisole with Bow is the perfect mix between the purely romantic and the purely practical. Worn with jeans, it works for a casual dinner. Worn with trousers and a cropped jacket, it’s perfect for the office. Worn with a neat skirt, it could go to a wedding or a wine tasting. A gorgeous and versatile piece, on sale for $499 (originally $830) at eLuxury. Now all you need is some sweet tea…

Madison Marcus Zest Black Tunic

Nicole Richie was wearing this Madison Marcus’ Zest Tunic, $215, while out with her then-boyfriend Joel Madden. I love the curlicue detailing at the neck and how she wore it over mini cutoff jean shorts. What a sexy peek-a-boo effect! If you don’t want to pay over $200 to look like Nicole, there is another option!

This Ella Moss’ Alexandria Cami, $82, is quite similar, especially because of the criss-cross neck pattern. Sure, the detailing is not exactly the same, but for less than half the price, it’s worth it. Plus, it’s Ella Moss Black Label and that in itself is fab!
