Purple Denim Shorts

How fun are these shorts? I love that denim shorts are coming back in style, but the color of this particular pair from Shop Bop will ensure that you don’t end up in the same duds as everyone else. Offering more flexibility than most skirts, these would look killer with everything from heels and a flimsy empire-waist top to flip flops, a skinny tank, and big sunglasses.Â
International Concepts Shorts

So I’ve been searching for a cute pair of white shorts for a while now and seem to have the problem of only finding two styles: hot pants or boring capris. White on the bottom certainly goes with everything and is a choice only in the summer, but it can be hard to pull off (especially when I’m so picky!). Luckily, I think I may have found the perfect pair. I love how these ones from International Concepts are kind of loose, but a little more fitted around the knee. Plus, you have the fun decision to make between the two different lengths- neither of which will make you look like a soccer mom or an extra in “The Dukes of Hazard.â€

Scrapbook Andora Jumper Shorts
Posted on June 13, 2007 at 10:30 am (PST) | Comments Off
I was first introduced to super kawaii label Scrapbook by an old roommate and friend. If it were a shoe, Scrapbook would be Irregular Choice (or maybe this one). The Rosea Criss Cross Strap Dress for $105 is simple yet fun, while on the opposite end of the spectrum, the Andora Jumper Shorts are maybe a bit too fun. Then again, even the Fug Girls have lightened their stance on jumper shorts, so be super kawaii and order this comfortable and moveable piece for $102.

Capri pants: yes, you can pull it off
Posted on June 8, 2007 at 9:47 am (PST) | Comments OffCapri pants – tight fitting pants that reach to mid-calf - made their first appearance in the late 50s. These days, capris come in many styles and lengths. Capris are a great choice for summer - they are comfortable, versatile, and for most women – more flattering than shorts.
The most flattering Capri pants follow your body’s curves and are cut straight or with a slight flare at the bottom. Tapered styles will make your thighs look bigger. Length is important too: the ideal length is mid-calf – these Joie capris ($150) are just perfect: easy, lightweight and flattering.

Shorter, tapered styles, like this one by So Low ($75, black or gray) tend to be less flattering, unless you have shapely, slender legs and slim thighs.

Kooba Audrey for Safari

I don’t always love a jumpsuit, but I’m digging this safari-inspired Linen Jumpsuit from Forever 21. My pick is for the taupe on final sale for $19.84–pair it with red patent flats (I own these) and an oversized clutch like the Kooba Audrey in Bourbon for $300 at Revolve Clothing (love the fast, free shipping!)
